Retake the Net barcamp

A very heartfelt thank you to you and Positively Wellington Venues for all your help with last Saturday’s Retake the Net barcamp.

The event was a huge success, and Brian and I couldn’t be happier with how it all went. We had a total of +70 people come through. Their feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

Everything related to the venue, setup, catering, and organisation throughout the day went flawlessly. The Civic Suites were a beautiful venue for our event; the food was great, and everyone we liased with throughout the day was very helpful.

Please extend our thanks to Kristy and the catering team, Mike and the multimedia team, as well as the duty managers Jenny and Al. Organising an event like this can be stressful, but everyone’s friendliness and professionalism made it smooth and very enjoyable for us.

NIWA Meeting
25-28 October 2011

Thanks the meeting went very well, I had lots of lovely comments about how great the venue and food were.  People raved about the risotto on the Tuesday I was still getting comments on it on the Friday.
The technical support was also excellent, I don’t think any of us will forget one talk where the speaker had lost his voice and could only talk in a whisper and yet the sound tech somehow made it perfectly and clearly audible. Amazing! 

Please pass on our thanks to all your staff, they were excellent.

The BIG SING finale

Wow. We REALLY want to thank you and your teams very much for the excellent services you supplied before during and after this year’s Big Sing National Finale.
It was an amazing three days of singing and listening — and especially viewing! Everyone who was there said how great it was and clearly enjoyed it thoroughly. It was helped enormously by the willing and expert assistance of your duty managers and their teams.  I know it’s a cliché by now, but it’s still just like having a genie in a bottle — I only have to say a few words on that little radio and someone would instantly appear and take care of whatever we needed. Perfect customer service!
In particular, Matt and his techie team with the big screens and gorgeous colour wash and other lighting effects enabled Murray and his magic-makers and the R2 team to to show all the clips of the Flash choirs and the information slides and of course capture the whole thing for the web and for the DVD. Just an amazing effort all round.

But arguably the best achievement of all was switching from Gala Concert mode to Party Time in only 30 minutes. Excellent collaboration between your teams and ours. It all worked out perfectly – and we heard that this considered the best after-Finale student function ever. Kristy and her team should take a bow.
We look forward to working with you all again next year and – who knows — maybe we’ll be holding the Finale again.
