Wellington Conference and Events Expo 2008
The capital city showcased its conference and event product to event organisers recently at its eighth annual Wellington Conference & Events Expo. With almost 100 exhibitors coming together at the TSB Bank Arena on the 22nd October, the Expo again proved itself to be a hit with attendees.
Attracting over 800 buyers from throughout the Wellington region and further a field, it was not the largest turnout the expo has seen, however many exhibitors commented that the quality of attendees was at an all time high. Results from the attendee survey undertaken certainly corroborated this with over 88% of participants stating that they intend to purchase from an exhibitor within the next 12 months.
Neville Brown, General Manager of the Wellington Convention Centre is proud of the Wellington Convention Centre’s eight year history of hosting and supporting the exhibition.
“The Expo has continued to grow over the years and I have watched it go from strength to strength. The overall opinion from attendees and exhibitors alike has been that this year’s event has been successful. We were impressed with the high calibre of the stands, and the way everyone worked together as a city to create an event which truly showcases what Wellington and neighbouring regions have to offer event organisers.”
Robyn Radomski, Director of Conference Works Ltd, the exhibition manager of the Expo for the last two years, was excited with the range of information available.
“Our experience is that our clients are always looking for something different. This year, the wide range of exhibitors – including twenty new suppliers – meant that there was something for everyone. I have seen an enormous growth over the years. It has become an extremely important part of Wellington’s Event Calendar.”
